Choke Hold
The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. Matthew 13:22
I want a faith that flourishes, Lord. I want to hear Your promises and take hold of them and believe in them. But when my worries about money, relationships, or the day's agenda kick in, my faith suffers. My fears stunt its growth, and I am left feeling empty. Let me be encouraged by other believers and uplifted by creation's wonder. Hope creates a fertile ground where faith can take root and blossom. Guide me toward those people and practices that will inspire me to live a fruitful, abundant life.
Prayer for beginning your work day...
Lord, help me stay focused on what is important today. Help me accomplish my goals for the day and perform my job to the best of my ability. Let Your light shine through me for all to see. If someone is against me Lord, let me forgive them and love them anyway. Let me remember, that I am working for you and the glory is Yours and not mine. Amen~
